String point of view for heavy-light mesons
Yubing Dong, Qi-Fang L\"u, Takayuki Matsuki

TL;DR
This paper models heavy-light mesons using a string picture, deriving a formula relating meson mass and angular momentum, and confirms its validity with experimental and theoretical data.
Contribution
It introduces a string-based formula for heavy-light mesons, revealing an approximate rotational symmetry and providing a new perspective compared to traditional quark models.
Findings
The formula $(M-m_c)^2=rac{1}{2}\pi \sigma L$ fits experimental data well.
Numerical analysis shows good agreement with various theoretical models.
The coefficient is half that of light mesons, indicating a distinct symmetry property.
Abstract
An approximate rotational symmetry of a heavy-light meson is viewed from a string picture. Using a simple string configuration, we derive a formula, , whose coefficient of the r.h.s. is just 1/2 of that of a light meson with two light quarks. A numerical plot is obtained for mesons of experimental data as well as several theoretical models, which shows good agreement with this formula.
