Jian Chen, Nikos Bamiedakis, Peter Vasil'ev, Richard V. Penty, Ian H., White

TL;DR
This paper shows that optimizing the layout of multimode polymer waveguides significantly improves their bandwidth performance for optical interconnects, achieving over 40 GHz·m without additional launch conditioning.
Contribution
It introduces a waveguide layout design approach to enhance bandwidth in multimode polymer waveguides for optical printed circuit boards.
Findings
Bandwidth >40 GHz·m achieved
Layout optimization improves performance
No launch conditioning needed
Abstract
Dispersion studies demonstrate that waveguide layout can be used to enhance the bandwidth performance of multimode polymer waveguides for use in board-level optical interconnects, providing >40 GHzxm without the need for any launch conditioning.
