Measurement of $W^{\pm}W^{\pm}$ vector-boson scattering and limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings with the ATLAS detector
ATLAS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of same-sign $W$ boson scattering and sets new limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings using ATLAS data at 8 TeV, enhancing understanding of electroweak interactions and potential new physics.
Contribution
It provides extended measurements of $W^{ m ext{±}}W^{ m ext{±}}jj$ production and introduces a new fiducial region for more stringent limits on anomalous gauge couplings.
Findings
Measured production cross-sections in different regions.
Set improved limits on $ ext{α}_4$ and $ ext{α}_5$.
Enhanced sensitivity to electroweak processes.
Abstract
This paper presents the extended results of measurements of production and limits on anomalous quartic gauge couplings using 20.3 of proton-proton collision data at TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Events with two leptons ( or ) with the same electric charge and at least two jets are analyzed. Production cross-sections are determined in two fiducial regions, with different sensitivities to the electroweak and strong production mechanisms. An additional fiducial region, particularly sensitive to anomalous quartic gauge coupling parameters and , is introduced, which allows more stringent limits on these parameters compared to the previous ATLAS measurement.
