Asymptotic equivalence of paired Hotelling test and conditional logistic regression
F\'elix Balazard

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the score test of conditional logistic regression and the paired Hotelling test are asymptotically equivalent, highlighting their theoretical connection in analyzing paired observational data.
Contribution
It establishes the asymptotic equivalence between two commonly used tests for paired data, linking conditional logistic regression and Hotelling's test.
Findings
Score test of conditional logistic regression is asymptotically equivalent to paired Hotelling test.
Theoretical connection between two statistical tests for paired observational data.
Implications for choosing tests in observational study analysis.
Abstract
Matching, the stratification of observations, is of primary importance for the analysis of observational studies. We show that the score test of conditional logistic regression and the paired Student/Hotelling test, two tests for paired data, are asymptotically equivalent.
