On neutrinoless double electron capture
E. G. Drukarev, A. I. Mikhailov

TL;DR
This paper calculates the probability of neutrinoless double electron capture, revealing it to be significantly higher than previously estimated, which has implications for neutrino physics research.
Contribution
It introduces revised equations for the $2EC0 u$ process probability, accounting for energy transfer mechanisms, and shows the probability is three orders of magnitude larger.
Findings
Probability of neutrinoless double electron capture is much higher than earlier estimates.
Clarified the energy transfer mechanism from nucleus to electrons.
Revised equations improve accuracy of process probability calculations.
Abstract
We found the probability for the neutrinoless double electron capture in the case of capture. We clarified the mechanism of the energy transfer from the nucleus to the bound electrons. This enabled us to obtain the equations for the probability of the process which modify those obtained earlier. We found that the probability of the process is three orders of magnitude larger than it was supposed earlier.
