Debabrata Adak, Amna Ali

TL;DR
This paper explores the impact of slotheon gravity on the universe's evolution, showing it delays the Big Crunch singularity compared to standard models, with the delay depending on the correction strength.
Contribution
It introduces the effect of slotheon correction in cosmological dynamics, highlighting its role in delaying the universe's collapse in a linear potential scenario.
Findings
Universe ends with Big Crunch in this model.
Delay of singularity depends on slotheon correction strength.
Slotheon gravity modifies the timing of cosmic collapse.
Abstract
In this paper, we examine the cosmological dynamics of a slotheon field in a linear potential. The slotheon correction term respects the galileon symmetry in curved space time. We demonstrate the future evolution of universe in this model. We show that in this scenario, the universe ends with the Big Crunch singularity like the standard case. The difference being that the time at which the singularity occurs is delayed in the slotheon gravity. The delay crucially depends upon the strength of slotheon correction.
