Matthias Burkardt

TL;DR
This paper explores quark-photon correlations as a source of single-spin asymmetries in deep-inelastic scattering, deriving a new sum rule and discussing its phenomenological implications within an electrodynamic lensing framework.
Contribution
It introduces a new sum rule for quark-photon correlators and interprets the results through an intuitive electrodynamic lensing model.
Findings
Derived a new sum rule for quark-photon correlators.
Discussed phenomenological consequences of the sum rule.
Provided an interpretation within an electrodynamic lensing framework.
Abstract
We consider quark-photon correlations that have been proposed as a source for single-spin asymmetries in inclusive deep-inelastic scattering. A new sum rule for these correlators is derived and its phenomenological consequences are discussed. The results are interpreted within the context of an intuitive 'electrodynamic lensing' picture.
