Thomas Kittelmann, Esben Klinkby, Erik B Knudsen, Peter Willendrup,, Xiao Xiao Cai, Kalliopi Kanaki

TL;DR
This paper introduces MCPL, a binary format for exchanging particle data between Monte Carlo simulation tools, along with portable C code and plugins for easy integration.
Contribution
It presents a new standardized binary format for particle data and provides tools for its manipulation and integration across different simulation platforms.
Findings
Provides a portable C library for MCPL file handling
Includes converters and plugins for popular simulation packages
Facilitates interoperability between Monte Carlo simulation applications
Abstract
A binary format with lists of particle state information, for interchanging particles between various Monte Carlo simulation applications, is presented. Portable C code for file manipulation is made available to the scientific community, along with converters and plugins for several popular simulation packages.
