TL;DR
This paper proposes composite models for standard model fermions using preons and introduces two mass formulas, successfully describing known fermion masses within this framework.
Contribution
It introduces two novel mass Ansatze for leptons and quarks based on Gell-Mann Okubo type formulas in a preon-based composite model.
Findings
Mass formulas fit known fermion masses well
Composite model with preons can replicate standard model fermion spectrum
Provides a new perspective on fermion mass generation
Abstract
We consider a composite model in which the standard model fermions are bound states of elementary spin particles, the preons, situated in the conjugate product representation of the color group. In this framework we propose and analyze two mass Ansatze one for the leptons, the other one for the quarks, based on mass formulae of the Gell-Mann Okubo type. We find that these mass Ansatze can give an adequate description of the known standard model fermion masses.
