Back-propagating the light of field stars to probe telescope mirrors aberrations
Ferr\'eol Soulez, Fr\'ed\'eric Courbin, Michael Unser

TL;DR
This paper introduces a wavefront-based technique that uses field stars to estimate and correct telescope mirror aberrations across the entire field of view, enhancing image quality.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel method to estimate telescope mirror aberrations using only field stars, applicable across the entire field of view.
Findings
Qualitative results demonstrate the method's potential.
The approach effectively estimates aberrations from field star data.
Abstract
We propose a wavefront-based method to estimate the PSF over the whole field of view. This method estimate the aberrations of all the mirrors of the telescope using only field stars. In this proof of concept paper, we described the method and present some qualitative results.
