F. Hoveyda, E. Hohenstein, S. Smadici

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates all-optical switching in Co/Pd superlattices driven by heat accumulation, linking domain wall motion to in-plane heat diffusion through experimental observations and numerical calculations.
Contribution
It reveals the role of heat accumulation in domain wall motion for all-optical switching in Co/Pd superlattices, combining experimental and numerical analysis.
Findings
Heat accumulation facilitates domain wall motion during switching.
Numerical models connect heat diffusion to domain wall dynamics.
Experimental evidence confirms heat's role in switching process.
Abstract
All-optical switching by domain wall motion has been observed in Co/Pd superlattices. Heat accumulation is part of the switching process for our experimental conditions. Numerical calculations point to a connection between domain wall motion and in-plane heat diffusion.
