Byung-Geel Yu, Yongseok Oh, and Kook-Jin Kong

TL;DR
This paper models the photoproduction of $K^*$ mesons off nucleons using the Regge approach, emphasizing the electromagnetic properties of $K^*$ and analyzing various meson exchanges to explain experimental cross-section behaviors.
Contribution
It introduces a comprehensive Regge model incorporating the electromagnetic multipoles of $K^*$ and evaluates the roles of different meson trajectories in $K^*$ photoproduction.
Findings
K-meson trajectory dominates at high energies.
Predicted cross sections for $ o K^{*0} o o K^{*+}$ are about twice as large.
Photon polarization asymmetry can reveal $K^*$ electromagnetic moments.
Abstract
Photoproduction of vector mesons off nucleon is investigated within the Regge framework where the electromagnetic vertex of fully takes into account the magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments of spin-1 vector meson. The -channel , and meson exchanges are considered for the analysis of the production mechanism. The experimentally observed rapid decrease of the cross sections for the reaction beyond the resonance region is well reproduced by the dominance of the exchange of -meson trajectory. The role of the scalar -meson trajectory is found to be minor in both and reactions. The cross sections for the reaction are predicted to be about twice those of the reaction. The role of the …
