Randall-Sundrum brane-world in modified gravity
Hiroshi Nakada, Sergei V. Ketov

TL;DR
This paper explores a modified Randall-Sundrum brane-world model by adding a scalar curvature squared term, demonstrating that this modification does not destabilize the solution addressing the hierarchy problem.
Contribution
It introduces a higher-curvature term into the Randall-Sundrum model and shows it preserves the stability of the hierarchy solution.
Findings
The scalar curvature squared term does not destabilize the Randall-Sundrum solution.
The hierarchy problem solution remains stable with the added term.
Modified model maintains key features of the original setup.
Abstract
We modify Randall-Sundrum model of brane-world (with two branes) by adding the scalar curvature squared term in five dimensions. We find that it does not destabilize Randall-Sundrum solution to the hierarchy problem of the Standard Model in particle physics.
