TL;DR
This paper uses a nonrelativistic quark model to analyze bottom and bottom-strange mesons, proposing specific quark-model assignments for recently observed states and guiding future experimental efforts.
Contribution
It provides mass spectra, decay predictions, and assignments for bottom mesons, aiding the interpretation of recent experimental data in the quark model framework.
Findings
$B_J(5840)$ as $B(2^1S_0)$
$B_J(5960)$ as $B(1^3D_3)$
$B(5970)$ as $B(2^3S_1)$ or $B(1^3D_3)$
Abstract
In order to understand the possible quark-model assignments of the and recently reported by the LHCb Collaboration, we evaluate mass spectra, strong decays, and radiative decays of bottom and bottom-strange mesons in a nonrelativistic quark model. Comparing these predictions with the relevant experimental results, we suggest that the and can be identified as the and , respectively, and the reported by the CDF Collaboration can be interpreted as the or . Further precise measurements of the width, spin and decay modes of the are needed to distinguish these two assignments. These predictions of bottom and bottom-strange mesons can provide useful information to further experimental investigations.
