Angelina M\"uller, Matthias C. Wapler, Ulrike Wallrabe

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel liquid crystal ring aperture device that enables three-dimensional control of Bessel beams, maintaining coherence and beam structure for advanced optical applications.
Contribution
It presents a new liquid crystal-based design for independently switchable segments that control Bessel beams in three dimensions.
Findings
Preserves coherence of Bessel beams
Enables 3D control of beam structure
Demonstrates effective beam generation
Abstract
We present a ring aperture with independently switchable segments for the three-dimensional control of quasi propagation invariant beams. We demonstrate that our liquid crystal design concept preserves coherence and generates the Bessel beam structure.
