The influence of interaction between quasiparticles on parametric resonance process in Bose-Einstein condensates
Pawe{\l} Zi\'n, Maciej Pylak

TL;DR
This paper investigates how quasiparticle interactions affect atom pair creation during parametric resonance in a Bose-Einstein condensate, revealing significant deviations from predictions made without considering these interactions.
Contribution
It introduces the impact of quasiparticle interactions on the parametric resonance process, extending the Bogoliubov approximation to include these effects.
Findings
Quasiparticle interactions significantly alter atom pair creation.
Interaction effects modify properties of scattered atoms.
The study provides a more accurate description of BEC dynamics under periodic modulation.
Abstract
We analyze the uniform system of weakly interacting bosonic gas undergoing periodic oscillation of interaction constant. This, within Bogoliubov approximation, leads to creation of atom pairs with well defined opposite velocities. We show how interaction between quasiparticles, omitted in the Bogoliubov approximation, significantly changes the atom pair creation process and properties of scattered atoms.
