Massimo Ostilli, Carlo Presilla

TL;DR
This paper derives a general formula for transition rates in N-body dipole systems interacting with black-body radiation, analyzing coherent and incoherent regimes using field correlation functions.
Contribution
It introduces a unified approach to calculate transition rates for N-body dipoles in black-body radiation, extending previous methods.
Findings
Derived a general formula for transition rates
Analyzed fully coherent and incoherent regimes
Utilized 1960s field correlation functions
Abstract
We review the calculation of Fermi's golden rule for a system of -body dipoles, magnetic or electric, weakly interacting with a blackbody radiation. By using the magnetic or electric field-field correlation function evaluated in the 1960s for the black body radiation, we deduce a general formula for the transition rates and study its limiting, fully coherent or fully incoherent, regimes.
