Jianxiang Tian, Yuanxing Gui, Angel Mulero

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new closed-form virial equation of state for hard-sphere fluids that accurately predicts virial coefficients and compressibility factors across the entire fluid range, including the correct closest packing density.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel closed virial equation of state that matches known virial coefficients and improves accuracy over previous models for hard-sphere fluids.
Findings
Accurately reproduces the first sixteen virial coefficients.
Provides very good agreement with computer simulation data.
Features a pole at the correct closest packing density.
Abstract
A new closed virial equation of state of hard-sphere fluids is proposed which reproduces the calculated or estimated values of the first sixteen virial coefficients at the same time as giving very good accuracy when compared with computer simulation data for the compressibility factor over the entire fluid range, and having a pole at the correct closest packing density.
