Geometric deformations of sodalite frameworks
Ciprian S. Borcea, Ileana Streinu

TL;DR
This paper investigates the geometric and kinematic properties of sodalite frameworks to understand their flexibility and deformation characteristics in materials science and crystallography.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the combinatorial, geometric, and kinematic aspects of sodalite frameworks, advancing understanding of their deformation behavior.
Findings
Identified key geometric deformation modes of sodalite frameworks.
Analyzed the conditions for framework flexibility and rigidity.
Provided insights into the potential applications in materials design.
Abstract
In mathematical crystallography and computational materials science, it is important to infer flexibility properties of framework materials from their geometric representation. We study combinatorial, geometric and kinematic properties for frameworks modeled on sodalite.
