TL;DR
This paper models the production of $f_2(1270)$ and $f_2^{'}(1525)$ mesons in $K^- p$ reactions using an effective Lagrangian approach, successfully describing existing data and predicting outcomes for future experiments.
Contribution
It introduces a detailed effective Lagrangian model for tensor meson production in $K^- p$ reactions, providing new predictions for cross sections and invariant mass distributions.
Findings
Good agreement with experimental cross sections for $K^- p o f_2 o ext{final states}$
Predicted invariant mass distributions for $K^+K^-$ pairs
Proposed experimental tests for tensor meson production mechanisms
Abstract
We investigate the productiong of and mesons in the , and reactions within an effective Lagrangian approach. For reaction, by considering the contributions from the -channel exchange and -channel nucleon pole, we get a fairly good description of the experimental measurements about the total and differential cross sections. Based on the studies of the reaction, we investigate reaction including the contributions from the and mesons decaying into pair. The total cross sections and invariant mass distribution of the reaction are predicted. The results can be tested in future experiments and therefore offer new clues on…
