Evelina Arushanova, Jeanne R. Wilson

TL;DR
This paper details the development and testing of a ${}^{90}$Y calibration source for scintillator cocktails, including manufacturing procedures and experimental results from two laboratories.
Contribution
It introduces a new ${}^{90}$Y calibration source and demonstrates its effectiveness through experimental validation at two different institutions.
Findings
Successful manufacturing of the ${}^{90}$Y source
Effective calibration demonstrated in small and large scintillator samples
Consistent results across different laboratory setups
Abstract
We present the design of an Y calibration source and its manufacturing procedure, that has been implemented in the University of Sussex radioactive laboratory. The radioactive source was first tested at the University of Sussex using a small scintillator cocktail sample. Further measurements were performed at the University of Pennsylvania using a larger volume of the scintillator cocktail. The results of both studies are presented and discussed.
