TL;DR
This study reports the first measurement of the process gamma gamma to p p-bar K+ K- and searches for exotic baryons, finding known signals but no evidence for hypothesized exotic states, and setting cross section limits.
Contribution
First measurement of gamma gamma to p p-bar K+ K- process and search for exotic baryons using Belle data, providing new cross section measurements and upper limits.
Findings
Observed p p-bar K+ K- production and Lambda(1520) signals.
No evidence found for exotic baryons near 1540 MeV/c^2.
Set upper limits on two-photon decay widths and branching fractions.
Abstract
The process and its intermediate processes are measured for the first time using a 980~fb data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The production of and a signal in the ~() invariant mass spectrum are clearly observed. However, no evidence for an exotic baryon near 1540~MeV/, denoted as ~() or ~(), is seen in the ~() or ~() invariant mass spectra. Cross sections for , and the products and $\sigma(\gamma \gamma \to…
