TL;DR
This paper investigates methods to stabilize two-dimensional gravity water waves by dissipating their energy through external pressure variations at an absorbing beach, aiming to control free surface fluid dynamics.
Contribution
It introduces a novel approach to dampen gravity waves using external pressure modulation at an absorbing boundary, advancing wave stabilization techniques.
Findings
Effective damping of gravity waves demonstrated
External pressure variations successfully dissipate wave energy
Potential applications in coastal protection and wave control
Abstract
This paper is devoted to the stabilization of the incompressible Euler equation with free surface. We study the damping of two-dimensional gravity waves by an absorbing beach where the water-wave energy is dissipated by using the variations of the external pressure.
