F Li, M Chen, R Erban, Y Cao

TL;DR
This paper derives formulas for the first collision time and mean reaction time in compartment-based stochastic models for trimolecular reactions, enhancing understanding of reaction dynamics in such systems.
Contribution
It introduces new analytical formulas for collision and reaction times in compartment-based models involving three molecules, a novel contribution to stochastic reaction-diffusion modeling.
Findings
Derived formulas for first collision time.
Calculated mean reaction time for trimolecular reactions.
Provides analytical tools for stochastic reaction modeling.
Abstract
Trimolecular reaction models are investigated in the compartment-based (lattice-based) framework for stochastic reaction-diffusion modelling. The formulae for the first collision time and the mean reaction time are derived for the case where three molecules are present in the solution.
