Implementation of a Direct Coupling Coherent Quantum Observer including Observer Measurements
Ian R. Petersen, Elanor H. Huntington

TL;DR
This paper develops a direct coupling quantum observer for a harmonic oscillator that estimates one plant variable and provides measurable output via homodyne detection, advancing quantum measurement techniques.
Contribution
It introduces a novel direct coupling quantum observer capable of estimating a single plant variable and generating measurable outputs, including observer measurements.
Findings
Observer can estimate one plant variable accurately.
Produces measurable output using homodyne detection.
Advances quantum measurement and observer design.
Abstract
This paper considers the problem of constructing a direct coupling quantum observer for a quantum harmonic oscillator system. The proposed observer is shown to be able to estimate one but not both of the plant variables and produces a measureable output using homodyne detection.
