Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of recent observational results on magnetic fields in massive stars, emphasizing methodological improvements and new findings.
Findings
Enhanced measurement techniques have led to better detection of magnetic fields.
Magnetic field characteristics vary among early B- and O-type stars.
Recent studies reveal complex magnetic field structures in massive stars.
Abstract
Substantial progress has been achieved over the last decade in studies of stellar magnetism due to the improvement of magnetic field measurement methods. We review recent results on the magnetic field characteristics of early B- and O-type stars obtained by various teams using different measurement techniques.
