On the hidden charm pentaquark-s in $\Lambda_b \to J/\psi K^- p$ decay
L. Roca, E. Oset

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the $ ext{Λ}_b o J/ ext{ψ} K^- p$ decay, incorporating all relevant resonances to better understand the nature and quantum numbers of the hidden charm pentaquarks $P_c(4380)^+$ and $P_c(4450)^+$, improving previous models.
Contribution
It advances the previous analysis by including comprehensive resonance data and explores the possible quantum numbers and nature of the pentaquarks within a refined theoretical framework.
Findings
Reproduces experimental spectra with all relevant resonances.
Discusses the potential to explain data without the $P_c(4380)^+$.
Provides insights into the quantum numbers of the pentaquarks.
Abstract
In a previous work we presented a theoretical analysis of the reaction from where a recent experiment by the LHCb collaboration at CERN claimed the existence of two hidden charm pentaquarks, and . In that work we focused only on the and signals and discussed the possible explanation of this pentaquark state within the picture of a dynamical meson-baryon molecule made up mostly from and components. In the present work we improve upon the previous one by considering the total and data including all the relevant resonances contributing to the spectra, and discuss the possible nature of both and . We also discuss several important topics, like the effect of the contact term in the reaction, the viability of reproducing…
