TL;DR
This paper presents a highly efficient nanophotonic parametric light source using coupled high-Q photonic crystal resonators, achieving record conversion efficiency and high photon emission rates with minimal pump power.
Contribution
It introduces a triply-resonant continuous wave parametric source with unprecedented efficiency enabled by resonant enhancement in coupled photonic crystal resonators.
Findings
Normalized conversion efficiency of 3×10^6 W^{-2}
Photon emission rate of 14 MHz
Record high efficiency with microwatt pump power
Abstract
We demonstrate a nanophotonic parametric light source with a record high normalized conversion efficiency of , owing to resonantly enhanced four wave mixing in coupled high-Q photonic crystal resonators. The rate of spontaneously emitted photons reaches 14 MHz.
