Tetsuji Kimura, Shin Sasaki, Masaya Yata

TL;DR
This paper derives the world-volume effective action of the exotic M-theory 5${}^3$-brane, revealing its supersymmetric structure, T-duality transformations, and role as a source in eleven-dimensional supergravity.
Contribution
It presents the first explicit form of the world-volume action for the M-theory 5${}^3$-brane, including T-duality rules and supergravity source terms.
Findings
Derived the effective action for the M5${}^3$-brane.
Established T-duality transformations in eleven dimensions.
Identified the brane as a source in supergravity equations.
Abstract
We study the world-volume effective action of an exotic five-brane, known as the M-theory 5-brane (M5-brane) in eleven dimensions. The supermultiplet of the world-volume theory is the tensor multiplet in six dimensions. The world-volume action contains three Killing vectors associated with the isometry. We find the effective T-duality rule for the eleven-dimensional backgrounds that transforms the M5-brane effective action to that of the M5-brane. We also show that our action provides the source term for the M5-brane geometry in eleven-dimensional supergravity
