TL;DR
This paper demonstrates an automatic wavelength tuning method for a silicon-on-insulator two-ring Vernier filter using in-resonator photoconductive heaters, enabling precise control across the entire C-band.
Contribution
It introduces a novel tuning approach utilizing in-resonator photoconductive heaters for Vernier resonators on SOI, achieving full C-band tuning.
Findings
Successful automatic tuning across the entire C-band
Enhanced stability and control of Vernier resonators
Potential for integrated photonic applications
Abstract
Using in-resonator photoconductive heaters to both sense and control the intra-cavity light intensity of microring resonators, automatic tuning of a silicon-on-insulator two-ring Vernier filter is demonstrated across the entire C-band.
