TL;DR
This paper reviews potential environmentally friendly gas mixtures as replacements for traditional F-based gases in particle detectors, addressing regulatory challenges and exploring sustainable alternatives.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive analysis of eco-friendly gas candidates suitable for modern gas detectors, considering performance and environmental impact.
Findings
Identifies promising eco-friendly gas mixtures.
Highlights regulatory constraints on F-based gases.
Suggests future research directions for sustainable detector gases.
Abstract
Modern gas detectors for detection of particles require F-based gases for optimal performance. Recent regulations demand the use of environmentally unfriendly F-based gases to be limited or banned. This review studies properties of potential eco-friendly gas candidate replacements.
