TL;DR
This paper explores the dual conformal field theory descriptions of charged AdS black holes in the large dimension limit, revealing new dualities and conformal symmetries without traditional assumptions.
Contribution
It introduces a novel dual CFT description for nonextremal RN-AdS black holes in large dimensions, including a natural emergence of hidden conformal symmetry.
Findings
Calculated the central charge for near horizon extremal geometries.
Identified a new dual CFT description for nonextremal black holes.
Demonstrated agreement between gravity and CFT results for entropy and scattering.
Abstract
We study the dual CFT description of the -dimensional Reissner-Nordstr\"om-Anti de Sitter (RN-AdS) black hole in the large dimension (large ) limit, both for the extremal and nonextremal cases. The central charge of the dual CFT (or chiral CFT) is calculated for the near horizon near extremal geometry which possess an AdS structure. Besides, the -picture hidden conformal symmetry in the nonextremal background can be naturally obtained by a probe charged scalar field in the large limit, without the need to input the usual limits to probe the hidden conformal symmetry. Furthermore, an new dual CFT description of the nonextremal RN-AdS black hole is found in the large limit and the duality is analyzed by comparing the entropies, the absorption cross sections and the retarded Green's functions obtained both from the gravity and the dual CFT…
