A Practical Layered Model for Flexible-grid Optical Networks to Reduce the Routing Complexity
Aysegul Yayimli

TL;DR
This paper introduces a layered model for flexible-grid optical networks that simplifies spectrum assignment, reducing routing complexity by efficiently capturing spectrum usage across network links.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel layered model that improves routing efficiency in flexible-grid optical networks by providing an effective data structure for spectrum management.
Findings
Reduces routing and spectrum assignment time complexity.
Provides an efficient data structure for spectrum usage.
Enhances network management in flexible-grid optical systems.
Abstract
This article proposes a new layered model to represent the spectrum assignment on flexible-grid optical networks. This model can reduce the time-complexity of existing routing and spectrum assignment methods by providing a data structure that captures the current spectrum usage of the network links.
