H. Lange, P.E. Newstead

TL;DR
This paper advances the understanding of higher rank Brill-Noether theory for genus 5 curves by establishing new bounds and providing numerous examples of Brill-Noether loci non-emptiness.
Contribution
It introduces new upper bounds for non-emptiness of Brill-Noether loci and presents many novel examples for genus 5 curves.
Findings
New upper bounds for Brill-Noether loci non-emptiness
Numerous new examples of non-empty Brill-Noether loci
Enhanced understanding of higher rank Brill-Noether theory for genus 5
Abstract
In this paper, we consider higher rank Brill-Noether theory for smooth curves of genus 5, obtaining new upper bounds for non-emptiness of Brill-Noether loci and many new examples.
