TL;DR
This paper calculates cross sections for $ar K$ scattering on protons, revealing clear signals of the $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ resonances, and provides predictions to test the chiral unitary approach and the nature of these resonances.
Contribution
It offers the first detailed predictions of cross sections and invariant mass distributions for reactions involving $ar K$ scattering on protons, highlighting the formation of $f_0(980)$ and $a_0(980)$ resonances.
Findings
Clear peak for $f_0(980)$ in $ar K p$ reactions producing $ ext{π}^+ ext{π}^-$
Strong peak for $a_0(980)$ in reactions producing $ ext{π} ext{η}$
No evidence of $f_0(500)$ in the studied reactions
Abstract
We perform a calculation of the cross section for nine reactions induced by scattering on protons. The reactions studied are , , , , , , , , . We find that in the reactions producing a clear peak for the resonance is found, while no trace of appears. Similarly, in the cases of production a strong peak is found for the resonance, with the characteristic strong cusp shape. Cross sections and invariant mass distributions are evaluated which should serve, comparing with future data, to test the dynamics of the chiral unitary approach…
