Francesco Benini, Nikolay Bobev, and P. Marcos Crichigno

TL;DR
This paper constructs a new class of two-dimensional $ olinebreak(0,2)$ SCFTs from four-dimensional quiver gauge theories compactified on Riemann surfaces, and finds their gravitational duals as explicit AdS$_3$ solutions in IIB supergravity.
Contribution
It introduces a systematic method to derive 2D SCFTs from 4D theories via compactification and anomaly analysis, revealing new AdS$_3$ solutions and a universal anomaly relation.
Findings
New AdS$_3$ solutions in IIB supergravity as duals.
Universal relation between 4D and 2D conformal anomalies.
Observation of R-symmetry mixing with baryonic symmetries during RG flow.
Abstract
We find a large class of two-dimensional SCFTs obtained by compactifying four-dimensional quiver gauge theories on a Riemann surface. We study these theories using anomalies and -extremization. The gravitational duals to these fixed points are new AdS solutions of IIB supergravity which we exhibit explicitly. Along the way we uncover a universal relation between the conformal anomaly coefficients of four-dimensional and two-dimensional SCFTs connected by an RG flow across dimensions. We also observe an interesting novel phenomenon in which the superconformal R-symmetry mixes with baryonic symmetries along the RG flow.
