M. K. Volkov, A. A. Pivovarov (Dubna, JINR)

TL;DR
This paper calculates the decay width of tau to K pi neutrino using the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model, highlighting the dominant role of the vector K*(892) meson and confirming results align with experimental data.
Contribution
The study applies the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model to analyze tau decay, including intermediate mesons, providing a detailed theoretical prediction consistent with experiments.
Findings
Main contribution from W-boson and K*(892) meson subprocesses.
Scalar K0*(800) contribution is negligible.
K*(1410) contribution is also negligible.
Abstract
In this paper, the width of the decay is calculated in the framework of the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model. The contributions of the intermediate vector and scalar mesons are taken into account. It is shown that the main contribution to the width of this decay is given by the subprocesses with the intermediate -boson and vector meson. The scalar channel with the intermediate meson gives an insignificant contribution. In Appendix, it is shown that the contribution of the subprocess with the intermediate meson is negligible as well. The obtained results are in satisfactory agreement with the experimental data.
