Shell model description of Gamow-Teller strengths in $pf$-shell nuclei
Vikas Kumar, P.C. Srivastava

TL;DR
This paper employs the shell model with GXPF1a and KB3G interactions to systematically describe Gamow-Teller strength distributions in certain $pf$-shell nuclei, aligning well with recent experimental data from $eta$ decay and charge-exchange reactions.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive shell model analysis of Gamow-Teller strengths in $pf$-shell nuclei, comparing calculations with recent experimental measurements.
Findings
Qualitative agreement for individual transitions.
Calculated summed strengths closely match observed data.
Effective interactions successfully reproduce experimental distributions.
Abstract
A systematic shell model description of the experimental Gamow-Teller transition strength distributions in Ti, Cr, Fe and Ni is presented. These transitions have been recently measured via decay of these =-1 nuclei, produced in fragmentation reactions at GSI and also with ({He},) charge-exchange (CE) reactions corresponding to to carried out at RCNP-Osaka.The calculations are performed in the model space, using the GXPF1a and KB3G effective interactions. Qualitative agreement is obtained for the individual transitions, while the calculated summed transition strengths closely reproduce the observed ones.
