Measurement of angular correlations between $\rm D$ mesons and charged particles in pp and p-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC
Somnath Kar (for the ALICE Collaboration)

TL;DR
This study measures the azimuthal correlations between D mesons and charged particles in proton-proton and proton-lead collisions at the LHC, providing insights into charm quark production and hadronization.
Contribution
It presents the first detailed comparison of D meson-charged particle correlations in pp and p-Pb collisions at LHC energies, including Monte Carlo simulations.
Findings
D meson-charged particle correlations observed in both collision types.
Comparison with Pythia simulations shows qualitative agreement.
Results contribute to understanding charm quark behavior in different collision environments.
Abstract
We have studied the azimuthal correlations between , and mesons and charged particles in pp collisions at and p-Pb collisions at at the Large Hadron Collider. D mesons were reconstructed from their hadronic decays in the central rapidity region and in the transverse-momentum range 3 16 , and they were correlated to charged particles reconstructed in the pseudo-rapidity range . A comparative study of the pp results with Monte Carlo Pythia studies and also with p-Pb results are presented here.
