Contribution
It provides new analytical expressions for two-particle correlations and cross sections in massive parton production, highlighting the ridge phenomenon in high-energy physics.
Findings
Explicit expressions for two-particle differential cross section
Identification of the 'ridge' structure in correlations
Comparison with ALICE charm production data
Abstract
We obtain explicit expressions for the two-particle differential cross section and the two-particle angular correlation function in the hard-scattering production of massive partons in order to exhibit the ``ridge" structure on the away side in the hard-scattering process. The single-particle production cross section is also obtained and compared with the ALICE experimental data for charm production in pp collisions at 7 TeV at LHC.
