Colour Reconnection - Models and Tests
Jesper R. Christiansen

TL;DR
This paper introduces a new colour reconnection model in Pythia based on SU(3) QCD structure, which improves baryon and hyperon production predictions across different collider types.
Contribution
A novel colour reconnection model incorporating SU(3) epsilon structure, enabling better hyperon production description in collider simulations.
Findings
The new model describes hyperon production at $e^+e^-$ and pp colliders.
Predictions for past and future $e^+e^-$ colliders are provided.
The model improves the understanding of baryon formation in QCD simulations.
Abstract
Recent progress on colour reconnection within the Pythia framework is presented. A new model is introduced, based on the SU(3) structure of QCD and a minimization of the potential string energy. The inclusion of the epsilon structure of SU(3) gives a new baryon production mechanism and makes it possible simultaneously to describe hyperon production at both and pp colliders. Finally, predictions for colliders, both past and potential future ones, are presented.
