TL;DR
This paper investigates how the quadrupole moment of a mass influences the stability and structure of accretion disks composed of test particles, revealing significant modifications to their properties.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of the stability of test particles in the presence of a quadrupole, highlighting the impact on accretion disk characteristics.
Findings
Quadrupole significantly alters particle orbit stability.
Accretion disk properties are drastically affected by quadrupole.
Test particle dynamics are sensitive to mass quadrupole moments.
Abstract
We consider the stability properties of test particles moving along circular orbits around a mass with quadrupole. We show that the quadrupole modifies drastically the properties of an accretion disk made of such test particles.
