Symmetries of higher-spin current interactions in four dimensions
O.A. Gelfond, M.A. Vasiliev

TL;DR
This paper investigates how interactions among massless higher-spin fields in four dimensions break the original sp(8) symmetry down to conformal su(2,2) symmetry, aligning with nonlinear higher-spin equations.
Contribution
It reveals the symmetry breaking mechanism in higher-spin interactions, connecting free field symmetries to nonlinear equations in four-dimensional spacetime.
Findings
sp(8) symmetry is broken to su(2,2) in interacting theories
The symmetry breaking aligns with the structure of nonlinear higher-spin equations
Supports the consistency of higher-spin field interactions in four dimensions
Abstract
Current interaction of massless fields in four dimensions is shown to break sp (8) symmetry of free massless equations of all spins down to the conformal symmetry su (2,2). This breaking is in agreement with the form of nonlinear higher-spin field equations.
