TL;DR
This paper derives permittivity profiles that are reflectionless across all frequencies for perpendicular radiation, adhering to physical constraints, and discusses potential applications like Casimir force reduction.
Contribution
It introduces a method to design materials with permittivity profiles that are reflectionless at all frequencies for perpendicular radiation, respecting causality and passivity.
Findings
Permittivity profiles that are reflectionless at all frequencies.
Materials obeying Kramers-Kronig relations with no gain regions.
Potential to reduce Casimir forces using these materials.
Abstract
We derive planar permittivity profiles that do not reflect perpendicularly exiting radiation of any frequency. The materials obey the Kramers-Kronig relations and have no regions of gain. Reduction of the Casimir force by means of such materials is also discussed.
