Emission of neutrino-antineutrino pairs by hadronic bremsstrahlung processes
Sonia Bacca, Rishi Sharma, Achim Schwenk

TL;DR
This paper reviews calculations of neutrino-antineutrino pair production via hadronic bremsstrahlung in neutron-neutron and neutron-alpha collisions, relevant for supernova physics.
Contribution
It provides updated theoretical calculations of neutrino pair emission rates from specific hadronic collision processes in supernova conditions.
Findings
Neutron-neutron bremsstrahlung significantly contributes to neutrino emission.
Neutron-alpha collisions also produce neutrino pairs, affecting supernova models.
Results inform supernova neutrino transport simulations.
Abstract
We review our recent calculations of neutrino-antineutrino pair production from bremsstrahlung processes in hadronic collisions at temperature and densities relevant for core-collapse supernovae. We focus on neutron-neutron and neutron-alpha collisions.
