TL;DR
This paper introduces a new flexible parameterization of the reionisation history, aligning with current observational constraints from CMB, galaxy measurements, and line-of-sight probes.
Contribution
It presents a novel, data-driven parameterization model that captures the asymmetric nature of reionisation over redshift, fitting all current observational data.
Findings
The parameterization successfully fits existing observational constraints.
It models an asymmetric reionisation process.
Provides a flexible framework for future reionisation studies.
Abstract
Motivated by the current constraints on the epoch of reionisation from recent cosmic microwave background observations, ionising background measurements of star-forming galaxies, and low redshifts line-of-sight probes, we propose a new data-motivated parameterisation of the history of the average ionisation fraction. This parameterisation describes a flexible redshift-asymmetric reionisation process in two regimes that is capable of fitting all the current constraints.
