Gauge theory approach to branes and spontaneous symmetry breaking
A. A. Zheltukhin

TL;DR
This paper develops a gauge theory framework to describe branes and spontaneous symmetry breaking, representing Nambu-Goldstone bosons as gauge and tensor fields on the brane worldvolume, generalizing previous approaches.
Contribution
It introduces a novel gauge theory approach to model branes using Nambu-Goldstone bosons as gauge and tensor fields, extending the description to include fundamental branes in higher dimensions.
Findings
Unified gauge-theoretic description of branes and symmetry breaking
Representation of Nambu-Goldstone bosons as gauge and tensor fields
Generalization to D-dimensional Minkowski space
Abstract
Gauge theory approach to consideration of the Nambu-Goldstone bosons as gauge and vector fields represented by the Cartan forms of spontaneously broken symmetries, is discussed. The approach is generalized to describe the fundamental branes in terms of -dimensional worldvolume gauge and massless tensor fields consisting of the Nambu-Goldstone bosons associated with the spontaneously broken Poincare symmetry of the -dimensional Minkowski space.
