TL;DR
This paper investigates how thermodynamic properties in a 2+1 flavor Polyakov--Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model behave in finite volumes, revealing potential deviations from expected volume scaling near phase transitions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of volume effects on thermodynamics in the PNJL model, highlighting possible violations of volume scaling in the transition region.
Findings
Possible violation of volume scaling in thermodynamic observables.
Scaling violations occur across a broad temperature and chemical potential range.
Results inform finite-volume effects in QCD-like models.
Abstract
We discuss the 2+1 flavor Polyakov loop enhanced Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model in a finite volume. The main objective is to check the volume scaling of thermodynamic observables for various temperatures and chemical potentials. We observe the possible violation of the scaling with system size in a considerable window along the whole transition region in the plane.
