Stable or Unstable Light Dark Matter
Ernest Ma, M. V. N. Murthy, and G. Rajasekaran

TL;DR
This paper explores models of light dark matter around 10 GeV, including stable self-interacting and unstable long-lived variants, to explain observed anomalies and their stability properties.
Contribution
It introduces a simple $Z_2$ scalar dark matter model and a related unstable model to address light dark matter and anomalous events.
Findings
A stable self-interacting dark matter model with $Z_2$ symmetry.
An unstable long-lived dark matter model explaining Kolar events.
Potential implications for dark matter detection and astrophysical anomalies.
Abstract
We consider the case of light dark matter ( GeV). We discuss a simple model of scalar self-interacting dark matter, as well as a related model of unstable long-lived dark matter which can explain the anomalous Kolar events observed decades ago.
