Ingrid Daubechies, Yi Wang, Hau-tieng Wu

TL;DR
ConceFT is a novel method that enhances time-frequency analysis of complex signals with multiple oscillatory components by combining multitapering and synchrosqueezing techniques, supported by both experiments and theory.
Contribution
It introduces a new approach that improves the resolution and robustness of time-frequency representations for signals with varying amplitudes and frequencies.
Findings
Effective in resolving multiple oscillatory components
Improves time-frequency concentration and clarity
Supported by numerical experiments and theoretical analysis
Abstract
A new method is proposed to determine the time-frequency content of time-dependent signals consisting of multiple oscillatory components, with time-varying amplitudes and instantaneous frequencies. Numerical experiments as well as a theoretical analysis are presented to assess its effectiveness.
